Kroll Ontrack expands its technology solution for multi-matter management

Multi-matter management technology now includes support for serial litigants that have multiple matters that stem from a single data set

MINNEAPOLIS – Aug. 19, 2014Kroll Ontrack, the leading provider of ediscovery and data recovery products and services, today announced expanded multi-matter management capabilities to help highly-litigated organizations more efficiently and reliably manage data and work product across multiple related matters. For organizations facing serial litigation or multi-party projects, Kroll Ontrack multi-matter management technology leverages single-instance collection, processing and storage, along with work-product reuse, to significantly reduce ediscovery costs and risks.

“Smart multi-matter management technology can profoundly improve efficiency while minimizing the risk profiles of multi-project and multi-party data pools,” said Andrea Gibson, product director, Kroll Ontrack. “Instead of treating each project as a silo, repeatedly collecting and processing the data and reviewing it in separate databases, users can securely promote data from a repository to distinct projects, with the option to reuse work product. With technology that has been applied in over 1,100 multi-matter cases and a dedicated team of experienced consultants and case managers, Kroll Ontrack confidently guides the secure setup, unique review and production criteria associated with these types of cases.”

Available in ediscovery.com Review and Relativity from Kroll Ontrack, multi-matter management technology allows data to be collected, processed and stored in a single-instance repository from which unique data sets or projects can be created. Each project is completely segregated and secure, with distinct permissions controlling user access, work product and predictive coding. When applicable, Kroll Ontrack multi-matter management technology enables administrators to push work product (i.e. responsiveness, privilege coding or attorney notes) from the repository to multiple projects, saving valuable time and minimizing the risk of waiver of privilege, data fidelity issues and inconsistent decision making.

Multi-matter management is currently in limited availability with general availability planned for the fourth calendar quarter of 2014. For more information about Kroll Ontrack and its technology solutions, visit http://www.ediscovery.com/solutions/.
